Tina Beard
Tina Beard painted her first piece of pottery at The Paint Escape with her Girl Scout Troop in 2002 and even though was not thrilled with her coffee mug, fell in love with the process! "I love coming in, picking a piece, the colors, the design and painting. I never thought of myself as an artist, but discovered with some practice that "there really is a little artist in me" which gave me confidence to try new techniques." Four years later, Tina purchased the place of her passion and embarked on a fabulous journey of being a business owner.
Tina has lived on Whidbey Island for 16 years and enjoys the wonderful Puget Sound beaches and mountain views, but treasures the community in which she lives. This sense of community is what customers to her studio enjoy when they come to paint. The Paint Escape is a small studio, so visitors can't get overlooked and help is always available. Many painters come every week and get to know each other, sharing not only painting tips but life tips.
The goal of the studio is to help customers paint well, learn new techniques and enjoy the process. "I want each of my customers to feel proud of what they paint, not hide it on a back shelf." Tina believes the studios motto "There's a little artist in each of us, waiting to be discovered!"
