Darlene Girzadas

In addition to the joy of raising two young children, Flax and Spindle is Darlene's passion, her creative outlet and her calling. Darlene follows in her fathers footsteps, who was a painter as well as a culinary artist.

Darlene's current Flax and Spindle work is characterized by hand sewn pillows crafted from vintage linens, upcycled and organic fabric, hand felted wool, and one-of-a-kind hand embroidery work. Darlene's hope for her customers is to offer a certain mood from her creations. She strives for a relaxed, natural feel with a little bit of a vintage twist.

With a 20 year history on Long Island, Flax and Spindle is now accessible via the internet as well as in local shops on Long Island's North Fork.

Darlene resides with her family on Long Island's beautiful North Fork nestled in the heart of wine country.
